The recent halt in sea level rise is very silmpy explained this is due to ocean basin natural variability. You know how sometimes when you are cooking in your kitchen, and your measuring cup will hold a half liter before it overflows? And other days, the same cup will only hold a quarter of a liter, or maybe hold a liter and a little more? This sea level thing is the same, only bigger. Sometimes it will hold so much water, and other days, it just does not feel like holding so much. Sure the water is warming and the ice caps are melted and Greenland is sweating like a denier forced to touch a textbook, but those are all overcome by the natural basin variability. Simple.Or, of course, maybe this is not variability so much as that the hidden heat has boiled away that extra water.Oh well, I am sure the scientists have a good explanation for it!
