It is important to rmemeber that every single energy source we have ever chosen seemed a godsend at first but was later discovered to be just as bad or worse than its predecessor. Whatever energy source we choose to use, we must be respectful of it, be truly grateful for it, and not use it carelessly. Once there were enough trees, once there was enough coal, once there was enough oil, once we thought nuclear was safe. Whatever choice we make has less to do with its success than the way we choose to use it. Looking at it from an economical or financial perspective is useless. We must think of all Life on Earth first, all innocent Life that will pay the price if we again choose folly instead of wisdom. We must decide that what we want, what we like, our entertainment, our convenience none of these things must take priority when choosing how we interact with our chosen energy source. We can grow up. We can be unselfish. We can become, finally, wise and good.
