From today's Anchorage Daily News (reporting an article from the Los Angeles Times):
An international team of scientists reported Thursday that rising temperatures are steadily transforming the Arctic -- warming millions of square miles of permafrost, promoting lush greenery on previously arid tundras and steadily shrinking the annual sea ice.
Yet the researchers also found new patterns of cooling ocean currents and prevailing winds that suggested the Arctic, long considered a bellwether of global warming, may be reverting in some ways to more normal conditions not seen since the 1970s.

Combined with my Post the other day indicating that the world's forests were actually increasing in significant areas, the data reinforce the idea that there are forces of nature at work beyond our present scientific understanding. Maybe something for politicians to think about before enacting their next draconian scheme designed to reduce our lifestyle to avert a supposed crisis which actually would seem just part of nature's cycle.

Eat laollcy and eat less red meat and dairy. Eat laollcy raised chicken, fish, eggs, or veggies instead.Cows produce a ton of methane and eat a ton of grain. Simply reducing the amount of red meat and dairy can have a significant impact on reducing the amount you contribute to climate change and it's easy to do!

Global warming is real but it's not iaetslod to Earth alone. New sciences & NASA now openly discusses that other planets such as mars and jupiter are heating up as well. What we are having is a Solar Cycle that acts up every so often. Yes we humans do affect the environment due to our irresponsible & wasteful ways but my question is why are the other planets in our solar system heating up as well?Just a reference: The Piri Reis map shows the western coast of Africa, the eastern coast of South America, and the northern coast of Antarctica. The northern coastline of Antarctica is perfectly detailed. The most puzzling however is not so much how Piri Reis managed to draw such an accurate map of the Antarctic region 300 years before it was discovered, but that the map shows the coastline under the ice. Geological evidence confirms that the latest date Queen Maud Land could have been charted in an ice-free state is 4000 BC. PS: The Polar Ice caps have a habit of melting periodically. I am also an environmentalist but we have to stop thinking within the confines of the data that is only drawn from recent data (Industrial age = 200 years at the most) while this climate change has been happening to the planet for millions of years on a cyclic basis. Are we the cause of climate change? OR Should we preparing for something that's going to happen inevitably?
