From the Missourian:
Hating the heat? Be glad it’s 2007, not 1936
August 19, 2007 | 12:00 a.m. CST
COLUMBIA-In the summer of 1936, when 44 days topped 100 degrees, closing schools wasn’t even a consideration.
E.P. “Jake” Jacobs, of Columbia, who was 17 at the time, remembers sweating it out in his one-room schoolhouse in rural Boone County. Teachers would open windows, and everyone would hope for a breeze. ...
That summer, there were more days of 100-plus-degree heat than any other year between 1890 and 2007, said Pat Guinan, MU Extension climatologist with the Commercial Agriculture program. By comparison, the mercury this summer has crested 100 degrees only six days so far.

I like SLV and made quite a score in the last run-up. PSLV does not track the discounted price of silver so how does one value the ETF? Additionally they are issuing a bunch of instruments ( $200MM ) is that dilutive of the ETF? How do it know?

Wow, great responses folks, and the votes are still cminog. I'm not surprised by your responses. Sylva added another point, a good question to ask next time I do a poll: how many people are now using a WordPress platform as their primary website? I know I do, over on ContentforCoachesandConsultants.com.I too love Typepad for starting out, but am happy to have finally switched to WP. And I LUV the Headway theme! That's another thing I need to ask peeps, what their fav WP themes are Thanks so much, send your friends and tweeples to vote here so we can get a good response rate! Thx!

1936 very hot in America. Not so for europe. Not many fires either. Floods didn't devastate huge swathes of Africa, Asia, UK, Europe. Record breaking cat 5 hurricanes making landfall in the same month, whilst in the pacific monster typhoons ripping through china, vietnam, Korea north & south. Tornadoes ripping through New York. Floods & droughts happening across America at the same time. Sea levels rising, arctic melting to record lows. The sleeping giant Antartica melting at a record rate. The worst drought in Australia for a 1000 years! Mountain glaciers retreating all around the world. Lakes disappearing. Deserts growing and consuming more and more land around the world. Beetle infestations, diseases spreading from the tropics to the northern hemisphere. The stratosphere cooling while the troposhere is warming. The oceans are warmer now than ever recorded. In 1936 we were in solar maximus. In 2007 we are in solar minimum, the next solar maximus is 2010-2012. God help me !!(not you who wrote the above article though, you don't deserve it!)
